I love when a former student stops by my office and gives feedback when I'm away!

J. Michael Skaggs is a lecturer in the Communication Department - College of Informatics at Northern Kentucky University. His photography focuses on social issues including racism and sexism. His book Americans Revisited Volume 1 (Edgecliff Press), paid homage to Robert Frank's The Americans, and was published July 4, 2008.

The Galleries are in chronological order from most recent 2013, "Jazz" to 1993, "Martin Luther King Jr. 30th Anniversary March on Washington." 
 
Images from Pain have won three awards in B&W Magazine including an upcoming Spotlight award to be published in 2014. Pain group exhibitions include: SOS Art 2012 at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, We Create at Kennedy Heights Art Center, Art Comes Alive at ADC Gallery, Secrets & Mysteries at Darkroom Gallery (Essex Junction, VT), Fotofocus at Carnegie Visual & Performing Arts Center, NKU College of Informatics Advising Gallery, and Robin Imaging Gallery,
 

Pain images and poetry will be exhibited in Drawing on Disorder: Art and Rehabilitation at Prairie Gallery in Northside from August 10 to October 5, 2013 (Opening Reception: Saturday - September 14, 2013.

The Licking River Review at NKU is publishing two images in the Fall 2013 publication.
